Our Story
Three individuals that use creativity as an outlet. Utilising our drive for excellence and our creative minds, our vision is to provide for people with a need for their story to be told. Slowly but surely, our vision is becoming more and more a reality.
Based in a small town on the Far South Coast of NSW, Australia, South Coast Visuals is a team of three. However, it originally began as a one man show. Sam Hsiao, the founder, found his passion and love for creativity and storytelling at a young age, which over time has evolved into what it is today. Taking off in 2022 as a freelance creator, Sam brought his passion and own unique creative perspective to the market.
The startup was humble.
I accepted pretty much any job that came my way, most of the time I was working for free. I soon found myself getting paid for doing what I love, and began to build a reputation for my name and business. Looking back, I can clearly see the evolution of me as a creator, but also as a person. Apart from technical skill, the changes in my style of work has been drastic. Instead of creating content that only appeared visually pleasing, I’ve increased confidence in marketing my own creative style – commercially. And it’s been something quite challenging for me, to back my own vision in the hopes that it’s accepted by others.”

In 2023, South Coast Visuals underwent an expansion. Two new members were introduced – making us a production company. This was a big step. Now, South Coast Visuals were equipped with new creative minds, with various different skills. We were able to market ourselves differently. Together, we grew as creatives and as people. We developed our own creative style that complimented each others and all of our work.
What was really inspiring was that we’re a group of teenagers. We’re full-time students that had the passion and confidence to bring our creative views and ideas together to be one unit. Looking back, we’ve developed so quickly as a team that’s able to not only create professional work, but also enjoy each others company.”

To this day, South Coast Visuals are an ever-changing group. Being firm in our own creative visions, as well as matching with our clients visions. With a drive for storytelling, South Coast Visuals has no signs of slowing down in the near future.
